Anthropic unveiled new Claude AI plugins for Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and enterprise platforms during Tuesday's online event. The upgrades transform Claude into an embedded workplace assistant capable of spreadsheet analysis in Excel, presentation building in PowerPoint, and document management across Google Workspace.

Financial institutions including FactSet and Apollo helped develop specialized plugins for private equity modeling and investment research. The system now handles operational workflows from HR document drafting to vendor proposal summarization without requiring app switching.

Anthropic plans a corporate plugin marketplace where businesses can deploy customized AI tools across departments. Product lead Matt Piccolella describes the plugins as 'mini apps' designed to augment rather than replace human workflows.
